Leadership change in UN Live
The UN Live Board would like to extend its warm thanks and best wishes to Molly Voss Fannon, as she steps down as CEO of the Museum for the United Nations – UN Live – and embarks on new endeavours, with a home base in the United States.
Molly's leadership and contributions during over four years with UN Live have been much appreciated.
Under Molly’s guidance and with a great team, UN Live has evolved into a thriving platform for global dialogue, collaboration, and engagement. Her commitment to using mass-culture to forge new alliances and dialogue around climate change and biodiversity has facilitated a more cohesive and impactful global community working towards common goals and engaging a diverse range of individuals and institutions.
As Molly embarks on new endeavours, we believe that her expertise and passion will continue to drive positive change. We express our gratitude for the valuable contributions she has made to UN Live, and we wish her all the best in her new pursuits.
The Board will separately announce a number of new members, as we expand our Board, as well as a new permanent CEO. During the transition phase, the current Chief Strategy Officer, Emil Schelde, will function as Interim CEO of UN Live. Emil has been a central part of UN Live’s leadership team since the organization was founded, and we are confident that it will continue to thrive in his capable hands.
Molly Voss Fannon says: “When I joined UN Live 4 years ago, my job was to rally people behind a novel idea and manifest it. Together with an amazing team and incredible partners, I am so proud of what we’ve created, and what is now a much stronger and more focused organization. A “museum” that is humble and embedded across the world, set out to listen, record, analyze, and bring forth the world’s most unheard, and perhaps most important voices. “Exhibits” that will soon be coming to “every screen imaginable” – around the world – stay tuned and get excited! And, perhaps most importantly, my lifelong belief and now UN Live’s core: an insistence that if we want to accelerate the change, we all need, we need to harness what history, science, and even economists say works best – culture.
I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished together and the way we have been inspired by – and inspire – so many incredible people and organizations around the world. After four years in Denmark, the time has come for me to return to the Unites States and find my next challenge, and I couldn’t be more excited.
I am thrilled to be leaving UN Live in the interim hands of the amazing Emil Schelde as interim CEO. Emil has been with UN Live since the first day, he has been our lead strategist, and we have worked incredibly close and well together. The Board will soon announce some strong additions to the UN Live Board as well as who will become the new CEO. I wish them all the best on the way upwards and onwards.”
